Ring Control 
This feature allowa you to change the number of rings on your phone.

To Change the number of rings dial:

*47 (or 1147 on a rotary phone)
Then dial the number of rings (or number of seconds, depending on the CO equipment in your area).

Helpful Hints:

1. Depending on your central office equipment, you will either need to enter the number of rings, or the number of seconds (it will be one or the other). Use the chart above as a guide.
2. Verizon Customers, Verizon uses a different usage code and ring count numbers. Please see here.

3. In some states dialing *47 (*HP) from a cellular phone will connect you to the Highway Patrol or your local 911 office. This is important to make a note of as *47 serves a completely different purpose when dialed from a cellular phone.
