Molasses Cookies       from the kitchen of: Mrs. D  -from Mrs. D's grandmother

 

 

2 cups sugar (dark brown)
2 cups molasses (dark, we use BrerRabbit unsulphured full flavor)
3 eggs
1 tsp ginger

1 Tbsp vanilla mix before adding
2 tsp. baking soda

1/2 cup boiling water
1/4 tsp. salt

Combine wet ingredients, then gradually add

8 1/2 cups un-sifted all-purpose flour (start with beater finish with spoon)  do not over beat.

Let dough rise 1/2 hour (Cool spot, maybe even in fridge)

Roll out, cut, bake at 350  Watch for doneness!

May freeze rolls of unbaked dough to slice and bake later.
