Grandma Keith's Color Cake       from the kitchen of: Mrs. D

 


 

preheat oven to 325.

Melt 1 stick butter in mixing bowl
Add + beat well 2 cups white sugar
Beat in 16 oz tub sour cream (about 2 cups)
Add 2 mashed ripe bananas
Add 2 tsp baking soda dissolved in 1 Tbsp vanilla
Add 2 tsp baking powder
Add 3 cups flour, 1/8 tsp salt, 1 cup cocoa
 

Butter and flour EITHER 1 Bundt pan OR 1 9" x 11" pan,

Bake about 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean.

 

Elegant Frosting

2 1/2 cup sugar
2 cups cream
 

Bring to boil, stirring.
Reduce heat, simmer 6 minutes without stirring
Remove from heat

add:

10 oz unsweetened chocolate

when melted add:

1 cup (2 sticks) butter
2 tsp vanilla
 

Let cool, then whip, and spread.
